City of Tulsa TotalCare enrollment period starts June 1

TULSA, Okla. (May 31, 2012) -- The renewal period for the TotalCare utilities billing program begins Friday, June 1.

 

The TotalCare program was established nearly 20 years ago to alleviate the financial stress residents undergo when a medical emergency requires ambulance transport. The TotalCare utilities billing program was launched in 2007 by EMSA and the City of Tulsa to provide an easier option for residents to subscribe to the money saving program. It is designed to cover the cost of ambulance transportation for individuals whose current health insurance does not cover ambulance services, or to cover out of pocket costs, including copayments and minimum deductibles, for individuals whose provider does cover ambulance services.

 

The program's price of $3.64 per month is conveniently included on a resident’s regular city utilities bill, and benefits apply to all permanent members of the household.

 

Residents who receive their water from the city of Tulsa have between June 1 – June 30, 2012, to opt in or out of the program.

 

Residents who receive water from the city of Tulsa may pay an additional fee of $3.64 a month through their water bill to participate in the program. Those outside of the city water service area, may opt-in directly through EMSA for an annual cost of $45.

 

Residents only need to contact the city of Tulsa if they want to change their current enrollment status in TotalCare through the city water/utility fee program. If you are enrolled and want to remain in enrolled, you don’t need to do anything. If you are not currently paying the monthly fee, and would like to enroll, please call the city of Tulsa Customer Care Center at (918) 596-9511 no later than June 30.
